Description |
Carte-de-visite of Enfield Shaker Betsey Hartford. Inscription on back in pen reads "Betsey Hartford,/Enfield, N.H." The card measures 2-1/2" x 4-1/8" and the front is a tan color with "C. E. Lewis, Lebanon, N H." printed at the bottom. the edges are beveled and gilt and the corners slightly rounded. The image is 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" and has rounded corners. Betsey Hartford is facing the camera and visible head to waist, wearing a white cap with a silk scarf over the top, a stiff-collared blouse, and a dark Bertha collar with two lighter colored lines of trim and 4 buttons down the front. Her dress is a lighter color than the Bertha. |
