Description |
Enfield chair with replacement taped seat. Back posts have elongated finials with scribe at the widest point, and a shoulder at the junction with the post. Back posts have scribe marks at top and bottom of the back slat mortises, although some are faint. The three back slats have arched top edges with different radii. The top edge of the back slats is beveled on the front side. The posts have a single scribe mark that locates the seat rails and the stretchers. The chair currently has a tape seat, but the shape of the seat rails indicates it likely had a rush seat originally. The tilters are missing. |
