Description |
Blakes patent latch. This is the core of the latch set, includes the main body casting with the small stamped spring retainer, both escutcheons with screws, bolt, bolt spring, and threaded plate. It is a latch to be used on a small closet door, the exterior has a post to mount a knob, but the inside post is only a short stub and a knob cannot be attached. This set had a late-19th C or 20th C knob when found, and is now mounted in the south west cupboard door in the Meeting Room of the Great Stone Dwelling with an appropriate period knob. |
