Description |
Maroon shawl-collar sweater. Machine-knit and hand-pieced wool sweater. The sweater has a broad collar that can be worn down or turned up and buttoned. The placket and button holes are on the proper left front panel and the buttons on the proper right. There is a pocket at the bottom of the front panels on either side. The sleeve ends are ribbed. There is a label sewn into the inside of the hem that reads "James W. Brine Co. Boston Mass Cambridge Mass" Brine was a well known retailer of athletic supplies. It is believed that this sweater was made at Canterbury Shaker Village. |
