Description |
Enfield poplarware pincushion. The sides of the pincushion are made of poplarware "cloth", which is poplar strips woven on a loom with cotton thread. The ends of the poplarware are secured with a ribbon that is tattered, with it's loop and tail missing. The poplarware is trimmed with white kid leather. The top is beige velvet fabric, with thread that divides the top into 8 sections, with the thread secured in the middle and sewn into a spider web-like center. The bottom seems to be boxboard and is covered with white wall paper that is seen on other Enfield pincushions. |
