Description |
Poplar Pincushion with painted scene by Canterbury Shaker sister Cora Helena Sarle. Unlike the typical woven poplarware, the front and back of this pin flat are large strips of poplar trimmed with kid leather. The body of the pin cushion is pink velvet and there is a pink ribbon at the top. The poplar on the front has a painted scene depicting two trees, birds, and the shoreline of a lake. The poplar on the back is not painted. |
