Description |
Poplarware handkerchief box. Poplarware cloth is a repeating pattern of 6 strands of straw and 4 strands of poplar. Box is trimmed in kid leather, except the top edge of the sides, which is trimmed with the interior silk fabric. The shoe button on the front is mother of pearl (or imitation) and is secured with a circular cotter. The interior silk fabric is a gray-green color. The ribbons match the interior fabric color. The bottom is wood covered with a patterned white wallpaper and stamped "From The Shakers, / Enfield, N.H." Also written in faint pencil "$1.00" |
